Downeast Mission Trip for 2014 - Machias, Maine
7 folks from our family of faith went of this year's mission trip to Downeast.
Gil Russell was the coordinator. Others were: Karen Keniston, Tom Stevenson, Steve Mann, Josh Adams, Declan Wyatt, and Austin Moody and a student of Gil Russell's , Julia,  joined them in Machias to help.
The team combined with two other churches to accomplish much needed renovations and repairs for several families in the area.
Have you ever heard the expression, "You don't really know someone until you've lived with them for a while." Well, that applies to the people who go on a mission trip together. You certainly get to know each other as you eat meals together in the dining hall, share a cabin with several other people, worship as a group, and work together in small teams for one week. You cannot go on a mission trip without learning something about the others in the group. You also cannot go on a mission trip without learning something about yourself. You spend a week doing things you might never have done before and learning as you work. .
Anyone is invited to go on a mission trip. You will find out more about themselves if you go on a mission trip. But most importantly, you would like to get to know God and what God can do through you to go on a mission trip. It's a great way to get acquainted!
